Patong Beach
This area has a variety of beach resorts and the Balgla Road nightlife to enjoy after a day exploring or enjoying one of the stunning beaches of Phuket. It is located on the west coast and is the main tourist resort and centre of the local nightlife. It is also the most famous beach resort in Phuket, offering a variety of activities and nightlife with hundreds of restaurants, bars, and nightclubs.
Phuket FantaSea
This is a theme park with cultural shows and animals and is inspired by Thailand's heritage. It shows Thai tradition and culture, along with cutting-edge technology and special effects. This includes acrobatics, illusions, pyrotechnics, stunts and an aerial performance with a cast and crew of over 400. The park is a 140-acre complex with activities and entertainment, shops and a 4000-seat theme restaurant offering a delicious Thai buffet.
Big Buddha Phuket
This is an iconic sculpture on a mountain top with panoramic views, a cafe and a gift shop. It is on the peak of Mount Nagakerd and is 25.45 wide and 45 metres high. It is made using Burmese marble and weighs 135 tonnes over 2,500sqm. It has a 360-degree view of the southern part of the island including Phuket Island, Kata Beach, Karon Beach and Chalong Bay.
Karon Beach
This is a beach itself and the name of the town adjoining it on the west coast of Phuket. The beach has great snorkelling and diving sports and is wide enough so that even if there are lots of people around it never feels too busy. There are three main areas with a good variety of dining, shopping and entertainment options and the Buddhist temple which hosts the weekly market.
Sirinat National Park
The Sirinat National Park is located on the northwestern coast with pine-fringed beaches and nesting sea turtles. There are sea turtles who lay eggs on Hat mai Khao. It comprises the beaches of Nai Thon, Nai Yang and Mai Khao and a wildlife reserve, 22sqm of coastal land and 68sqm of sea. It is just 15 minutes from Phuket International Airport.
