Singapore is a dynamic city which comfortably embodies elements of both Eastern and Western culture. A harmonious blend of culture, cuisine, arts and architecture can be found in Singapore making it a great place to experience a variety of Asian cultures.

In recent years Singapore has developed itself as a tourist destination, increasing dramatically in popularity, especially as a stopover destination en route to Australia and New Zealand. There is certainly no shortage of things to see and do in Singapore including attending one of the many festivals held throughout the year. Chinese New Year is a spectacular festival when shops and houses are decorated with streamers and lights, and lion and dragon dances parade through the streets. Sentosa Island has become a popular place to visit with museums, aquariums, beaches, walks, sporting facilities, restaurants and the Sky Tower to explore.

The colonial district of Singapore with its Parliament buildings and the stately Raffles Hotel has been strongly influenced from when the British took over Singapore in the 18th century. By contrast Jurong Town is full of peaceful Chinese and Japanese gardens. The East Coast and Changi is a cultural corner of Singapore housing the Malay cultural village, the Geylang Serai Market and Changi, once a traditional kampong area which still retains its village atmosphere. Aside from this, Singapore has earned a reputation as the food capital of Asia with a huge variety of superb restaurants.

With its fascinating cultural mix, tourist attractions and excellent facilities, Singapore is an up and coming holiday destination to consider!
