The Amakhala Safari Lodge is secretly hidden up in the indigenous valley bushveld. It is superbly located in the 6,000 hectare malaria free Amakhala Game reserve, which is just 40 minutes drive from Port Elizabeth. The safari Lodge’s warm and friendly atmosphere offers one to one service with a distinct personal touch from the attentive welcoming staff will create an unforgettable experience with lasting memories.

The luxurious Safari Lodge sleeps 12 people. In addition to the four original safari huts, there are two new luxury suites complete with private plunge pools and separate lounge areas. Canvas drop blinds open up the safari huts and the central lounge to views of a small waterhole where monkeys roam and antelope and zebra quench their thirst. The rooms also come complete with luxurious bathrooms with double spa baths.

In the evenings, the enchanting sound of the kuda horn will summon you to the fireside to share tales of your day’s adventures. At the Amakhala safari lodge, you can enjoy award winning South African wines as well as sumptuous local cuisine in a magical al fresco setting. The resident chef prepares a delicious selection of sumptuous unpretentious food. Four course dinners start with delicious soups and homemade bread, followed by traditional dishes such as venison and ostrich often cooked safari style over the coals.
