Hotel Details

The Gorah Elephant Camp is the first private concession in a national Park. It is situated in the malaria free Addo Elephant National Park, which is home to the densest population of elephants on earth as well as all the big 5. The Gorah House has been restored to its 19th century colonial splendour and offers guests premier accommodation, meticulous service and attention to detail, ensuring a relaxing and luxurious stay. Gorah is also close to the coast of South Africa and many other attractions of the Eastern Cape. The Lodge welcomes children and those looking for an exclusive intimate bush wedding.

Eleven spacious and luxurious tented suites make up the accommodation at the Gorah Elephant Camp. They are stylishly decorated and offer sumptuous elegance to satisfy even the most distinguished of travellers. The tented lodges create a romantic and intimate atmosphere, which harks back to the golden era of safari in the early 1900’s. Indulge yourself in sheer opulence whilst relaxing to the haunting sounds of the bush.

The Gorah elephant Camps offers a superb game viewing experience, with the opportunity to view the majestic sight of elephants gathering by the waterhole. The camp also offers guest the chance of enchanting encounters with wildlife in their natural habitat, in an experience that is totally unique. With arguably the best elephant viewing in South Africa, Addo is also the domain of the Big 5, numerous antelope species and a wealth of bird life. Dining is by candle-light in the elegant dining room, or on its lazy verandas overlooking the waterhole. For an authentic South African experience, guests can relax in the authentic boma area with its beautiful rock swimming pool and sun drenched desk. Experience the African tradition of cooking and eating under the star surrounded only by the sounds of the bush.
