The Kariega Game Reserve is situated on a 6000 hectare private game reserve. It is a breathtakingly beautiful sanctuary which is abundant in game and wildlife, including the Big 5. The Lodge itself is set high above the spectacular Kariega River Valley deep amongst the African wilderness, at the heart of 1820’s settler country which is reflected in its rich historical heritage. Kariega offers luxury game lodge accommodation and a variety of activities and is less than 15 minutes away from the golden beaches of Kenton-on Sea.

Kariega Lodge comprises of luxurious spacious, fully serviced log chalets, all of which are en suite with their own viewing deck and private pool. The chalets are decorated in a traditional ethnic style which allows them to blend in with the surrounding natural environment. The chalets offer the ultimate in privacy and seclusion with spectacular views. From your deck you can watch the wildlife and listen to the haunting sounds of the bush.

A spectacular architectural award winning pub and restaurant are nestled in amongst indigenous bush with commanding views over the reserve. The restaurant serves a superb selection of delicious international cuisine of a superlative quality. For a more authentic experience, guests can enjoy the experience of a meal in the traditional open air boma which serves traditional South African cuisine using local produce and recipes. Activities at the Kariega Game Reserve comprise of professionally guided game drives, bush hiking, river cruises as well as mountain biking, horse riding and golf.
