Lion Sands Private Game Reserve occupies a scenic stretch of part of the vast, expansive Sabi Sand Game Reserve, its southern boundary sharing with Kruger National Park. 10.5km of Sabie River frontage graces this amazing wilderness, giving an impressive vista where wildlife graze freely across the two reserves. There is no shortage of on-site luxury within either of the two lodge types at Lion Sands; both blend seamlessly into this wonderful naturalistic environment, creating the perfect safari base.

Two lodge types house accommodation at Lion Sands. Ivory Lodge features a total of six luxury suites with plunge pools and River Lodge a total of 18 thatched en-suite bedrooms with 2 communal swimming pools.

Ivory Lodge
Facing south and located 100 metres upstream of River Lodge, these luxurious suites benefit from an en-suite bathroom, courtyard, lounge with fireplace and full air conditioning.  You will also find:

River Lodge
Facing east, the River Lodges catch the sun in the early morning and are linked to all areas by raised wooden walkways. Bedrooms feature an en-suite bathroom with mini-bar and telephone access. You will also find:

Meal Plan Options
Meals at the reserve will be on a Safari Plan which varies between safari properties however most meals and sometimes drinks will be included. Please ask at time of booking

There is no designated on-site restaurant in the traditional sense of the word at Lion Sands.  Beautiful home cooked food is served here in the homely surroundings of the lodge, at normal meal time intervals. Food will be provided if safaris are taking place over meal times.
