OverviewKurumba was the first resort in the Maldives and remains one of the finest. The resort is named after the coconuts which grow in abundance throughout the island. Accommodations come in a traditional Maldivian design but are complete with all the modern amenities that guests require. The resort is set between lush tropical vegetation, ornamental pools, an orchid nursery and palm-lined sandy avenues which lead around the 48 acre circular island. Guest RoomsThe accommodation offers an array of rooms that are built in a graceful colonial style which emphasises Maldivian culture and history. Complemented by a walk-in dressing room and an extravagant bathroom with a marble tub and a second, outdoor shower in a private open air patio. The ground floor of the Presidential Villa has a large drawing room off the beachfront veranda and a private swimming pool. The bedroom, with king-size four-poster bed, offers complete privacy and the balcony overlooks both the beach and ocean. The Royal Kurumba Residence is a luxurious two bedroom suite with two swimming pools and spacious sundeck over the beach. Each has a walk-in dressing room, king-size four-poster bed, beach veranda and the bathroom leads to a private courtyard with swimming pool, Jacuzzi, outside shower and shaded king-size daybed.
