Expansive beautiful grounds are the hallmark of the Shangri-La Villingili Resort & Spa – the first luxury resort in the Maldives located south of the equator. In our Opinion

‘Whilst this hotel is incredibly private, with its wonderful self contained villas with private pools, it certainly isn’t restricted to holidaymakers wanting a week or two of escapism. This is indeed a diver’s paradise and also a great location for those wanting to try a spot of snorkelling. Either way, the wealth of marine life is alluring, but equally, so is the resort as its own separate entity’

• 8 minute boat ride from Gan airport on Addu atoll
• 6km of coastline and 2km of white sandy beach
• Five nearby islands located on a 17 kilometre road
• The clear waters of Villingili are home to green turtles, eagle ray, lobsters, reef sharks and many species of tropical reef fish, not to mention some truly wondrous corals
• Very close to around 25 dive sites teeming with marine life
• Many nature trails to be explored
• 30 minute boat ride to the 140 metre ‘British Loyalty’ shipwreck

The Serene villas demonstrate Middle Eastern flair featuring sienna brown, vanilla and soothing turquoise as primary colours, and the use of sun bleached wood perfectly reflects the resort’s surroundings.
