‘Ample space, friendly staff, clean & tidy’

Part of the Affinia hotels’ highly respectable brand, Affinia 50 is the former Plaza Fifty hotel which was fully renovated and re-launched after a $12m renovation in late 2004. Located in the heart of midtown and close to Fifth Avenue’s shops, Rockefeller Plaza and Grand Central Station, its many people’s perfect hidden secret, and is also close to several world class restaurants.

‘Unpretentious, this hotel doesn’t try to do too much by offering too much, instead, it simply focuses on what its good at, namely providing good service and clean, tidy internal spaces and suites. Room service can be taken via an excellent local Indian restaurant, but there is no restaurant on site. A great location means this is simply not a problem’

 

Affinia 50 is situated in Midtown Manhattan on the corner of East 50th Street and Third Avenue. It is surrounded by Park Avenue’s office buildings, top restaurants, and popular attractions. Grand Central Terminal, the United Nations, Rockefeller Centre, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and the Empire State Building are all located nearby:

Club Room Continental breakfast is served daily in the Club Room featuring an extensive selection of fresh-baked goods, smoked salmon, a variety of cold cereals, and much more. The Club Room provides a comfortable escape any time of day where guests can enjoy a light breakfast in the morning, unwind with a glass of wine in the evening or spread out and work or chat with others.

Mint – Room Service
Affinia 50 has partnered with Mint restaurant to provide Room Service. One of the best-reviewed Indian restaurants in New York, Mint is directly across the street from the hotel.

Fitness centre
Open 24 hours, contains cardio machines, resistance equipment, free weights, and a television. Alternatively Central Park, 13 blocks away, offers a variety of recreational opportunities, including ball fields, tennis courts, rowboat rentals, horseback riding, and miles of trails for hiking, biking, running, and in-line skating. Rockefeller Centre's famed skating rink, four blocks west, opens in winter, as does Central Park's Wollman Rink.
Club Room
Located on the 2nd floor of the hotel, the multi-use Club Room is a unique extension of the guest suites. The spacious lounge area features a black granite fireplace and seating area with leather couches and club chairs and is equipped with 2 large-screen TVs, a selection of newspapers and magazines, complimentary coffee/tea all day, and “Evening Cheer” wine and cheese reception Monday through Thursday. Extensive continental breakfast is available daily for a nominal charge for guests to enjoy in the Club Room or on the go. Guests of the hotel may also take advantage of the on-site Club Concierge, the hotel’s own New York City expert, available to assist with services and arrangements. The Club Room also offers a complete Business Centre with PC, printer/fax/copier, and wireless high-speed Internet throughout. A convertible space can be sectioned off for private casual meetings and features soundproof windows, climate control, plasma screen and complete a/v capability.
