The Kanuhura Resort is a unique all-villa resort, and set on a slim oval island. The setting provides a beautiful, tropical backdrop to private hideaways with a wide range of relaxations, activities, sports, restaurants and bars and a stretch of interconnected pools navigated by Japanese-style bridges. The azure waters of the Lhaviyani Atoll feature some of the world's best diving sites, with the outer reef dropping down nearly 2,000 metres. The award winning Veyoge Health Spa is seen as one of the largest in the Maldives and offers an in-room ‘Champagne Bathing Ceremony’ and the treatments are complimented with a gymnasium and a selection of watersports. 40 minutes by Sea plane is this five star island hideaway and is luxurious by any standards.

Facilities

The tranquil resort of Kanuhura provides an array of amenities for guests. As one of the largest islands this means that they can cater for a wide range of tastes, anything from live music, Dolphin safari and secluded beaches. There are two tennis courts, a squash court and a volley ball area close to the water sports centre. The centre offers windsurfing, water skiing and canoeing. The resort is home to a variety of restaurants providing a section of international wines that complement cuisine prepared by internationally-trained chefs. The Thin Rah is the main restaurant offering Oriental and European buffets, with open-cooking stations where chefs are able to prepare individual dishes and cuisines. Guests have the option to eat by the beach overlooking the lagoon. The Oliver Tree serves Mediterranean a la carte dishes and features an open pizza oven. A lunch speciality of the restaurant is named ‘Cuisines of the sun’ and offers food inspired by Mediterranean flavours. A poolside table is available for guests who wish to have a candlelit dinner whilst enjoying the sunset. This Candlelit romance is reflected in the Veli Café which sits on the beachside wooden terrace. This restaurant does not take bookings for any children aged 11 or under. A five-minute boat trip across the shallow lagoon is the resort’s neighbouring uninhabited islet of Jehunuhura. It offer guests an opportunity for barefoot lunching on porcelain white sand. In the evening, the island becomes a haven for private parties or romantic hideaways for two. Guests may choose from a selection of custom-designed dining and overnight options. The island features Cove’s, an al fresco restaurant that combines elegant dining with all the romance of being on a ‘desert island.’
