Conservation
Denis Island enjoys an environment that has changed little in over 2 centuries, its lush vegetation is home to native trees, birdlife and sea turtles; successful removal of harmful rats from the island and extensive tree planting has improved the habitat further It is involved in a breeding project which is expected to lead to the ‘Fody’ being removed from the IUCN Globally Threatened Birds list – quite an achievement and a credit to the resort’s positive attitude towards conservation.

Farm
The island has its own farm in an effort to be as self-sufficient as possible, with pigs, cows, chickens and quails as well as an ancient vanilla plantation. Guests may visit the farm during their stay on the island
