The Villas on the island are constructed with the guests own space and privacy in mind. All have been handcrafted and designed with the best natural woods and local materials and feature with thatched “ylang ylang” roofs to create a welcoming space. The Villas are raised above the ground so guests can enjoy the cool breezes of the island.

Library
All facilities on North Island are of such exquisite beauty that it would not do them justice to mention ‘a library’ for example; the North Island Library is an amazing architectural design crafted from pure coral rocks and houses a collection of books and fascinating local information.

Each villa has its own dedicated island buggie, a specially adapted electric cart giving guests the freedom to move around the island with ease

Dining concept
Being so perfectly surrounded by rich fishing grounds as well as sitting on rich, fertile soil there is an abundance of fresh, natural produce which the chef will lovingly prepare to create sumptuous dishes.

No Menus
The island operates a ‘no-menu’ dining concept preferring to adopt a totally personal approach; the island chef consults with each guest to discover their preferences and so creating a unique culinary experience at every meal

Drinking
To do justice to the delicate cuisine you will be able to choose from an impressive cellar which houses some of the world’s great wines and Champagnes

North Island Sunset Bar
Simple rustic bar located just above the high water mark on the northern end of Grande Anse. Drinks and light snacks may be served.

The island can be reached in 20 minutes from Mahe by helicopter.

Conservation and Eco Tourism
North Island is a fertile paradise, the perfect setting for a Noah’s Ark conservation programme. Thanks to thousands of indigenous plant species grown in the nursery and then transplanted throughout the island, its habitat has been restored to become a place where fauna and flora endemic to the Seychelles can flourish. Alien rodents have been successfully eradicated and excitingly, species such as Seychelles blue pigeons and breeding populations of wedge-tailed shearwaters and white-tailed tropicbirds have returned of their own accord. Hawksbill and green turtles nest on the beaches once more.
The next phase has involved introducing more indigenous life. A founder population of 25 Seychelles white-eyes, of which a mere 400 remain on Earth, was introduced in 2007 and gratifyingly settled down to nest and produce the next generation in a place of safety and plenty.
The population on the Island currently exceeds 60 birds, with North now responsible for a significant proportion of the world population of the species.
Spending time with North’s Environmental Team will allow you to marvel at the full scope of what has been done in order to create a true Noah’s Ark in the Indian Ocean.
