Luxury Barcelona Holidays

Overview

There’s an almost heroic pride with which the Catalan population describe their capital that makes you truly feel how special this place is. A man-made beach stretches along the busy coastline, housing some of the most exclusive hotels and nightclubs in the city, but also giving tourists a place to spend lazy afternoons in the Mediterranean sun.

Barcelona is bursting with cultural activities from the Picasso Museum to the distinctive and unique architecture of Barcelona’s most famous son, Gaudi. His works stretch from the Basilica de la Sagrada Familia, one of the planet’s most recognisable places of worship to Parc Guell, a private mountaintop park system designed by Gaudi and commissioned by Eusebi Guell.

When To Visit

With so many sights and attractions, Barcelona is a year-round destination. The summer is a great time to visit the city for a luxury beach retreat, with temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius.

It's slightly cooler in spring and autumn, allowing you to visit attractions at all times of the day with ease. A lot of festivals tend to take place during late spring and early autumn, too. Winter temperatures are usually fairly mild, making for a wonderful time to wander the city at your own pace.

Food & Drink

Enjoy a continental breakfast in the morning and come evening sample classic Catalan dishes like esqueixada, a cured cod salad, and the breaded potato and meat-filled bomba. Rich with premium meats, fresh seafood, herbs and spices, fine dining in Barcelona is a delicious treat.

Try a la carte menus, fresh buffets and Mediterranean fusion dishes. Dine in the finest of surroundings and sample cuisine cooked by award-winning chefs. Pair your dinners with world-renowned wines and enjoy a dessert of crema Catalana, a rich custard with a crisp sugar topping.

Passport & Visas

As with any holiday, it's a good idea to carry some identification with you at all times and to keep a photocopy of your passport. British passport holders don't need a visa to enter Spain. Visit GOV.UK for more advice on passports, visas and travel.
