Luxury Vancouver Holidays

Overview

Located on Canada’s west coast, Vancouver is arguably the nation's most beautiful city, as it boasts golden beaches, snow-capped mountains and a gorgeous harbour. Its hip, diverse neighbourhoods promise fine dining, excellent shopping, and wonderful museums, while its thriving performing arts and music scene provide the entertainment. Book a luxury holiday to Vancouver, Canada's coastal jewel.

When you fly into Vancouver, you’ll immediately notice its stunning surroundings. In Vancouver, locals boast that you can ski in the mountains and sunbathe on pristine beaches in this unique city. The Coast Mountains, just a 30-minute drive from central Vancouver, dominate the skyline and provide a beautiful backdrop to the glittering lights of the city's skyscrapers. Marvel at the views by booking a luxury early-evening cruise across Vancouver Harbour and watch the sun set over the water.

After you’ve explored Vancouver’s harbour, visit its many trendy and distinctive neighbourhoods. In the east, you’ll find Gastown, Vancouver’s original settlement, and a national heritage site. Admire the Victorian architecture, satisfy your shopping addiction at upscale boutiques, duck into unique art galleries or sample the vaunted and diverse local cuisine at Vancouver’s best restaurants.

Travel west to the neighbourhood of Kitsilano, known locally as “Kits”, to experience Vancouver’s waterfront culture. Here, you’ll find some of Vancouver’s best beaches, pleasant green spaces like Vanier Park, and family-friendly attractions like the Museum of Vancouver or the H.R MacMillan Space Center. During the summer months, this is also the place to catch Vancouver's Shakespeare festival. Afterwards, hit the beach for some sunbathing.

When To Visit

Vancouver is a great luxury holiday destination year-round. Summer months bring plenty of sunshine and temperatures between 14-22 degrees Celsius and the sea breeze stops the city from becoming too humid and hot. From June to September, you can catch Bard on the Beach – Vancouver’s open-air Shakespeare festival.

Winters in Vancouver are relatively mild with temperatures between 3-8 degrees and spring occasionally arriving as early as February. Nearby Whistler mountain offers fantastic skiing and snowboarding during snowy months and Vancouver has some excellent in-door attractions and coffee shop culture.

Food & Drink

Vancouver’s food scene is renowned in Canada for its fresh seafood and its ethnically diverse options, in particular, its Asian fusion cuisine. You can also try modern Canadian cuisine at restaurants like Coast Coal Harbour, expect exquisite dishes like Fraser Valley duck, or crispy calamari made with Humboldt squid.

Afterwards, kick back with a Canadian beer or cocktail in one of the vintage bars of Granville Street or Gastown. Just don't forget to try some of the premier local wines produced on the nearby Vancouver Island.
