Luxury Sanya Holidays

Overview

Located on the southern tip of Hainan Island, the largest island in China, Sanya is known as the Oriental Hawaii. Long beaches run the coastline, coral reefs and rainbow coloured fish swim in glittering waters, exotic animals live in emerald rainforests and lavish temples pepper the land. Luxury Sanya holidays offer a wealth of experiences tied together with exceptional hospitality.

Sanya is China's premier beach retreat and it's easy to see why. Soft gold and white sands stretch to aquamarine waters, which play host to water activities like snorkelling and diving. At Sanya Bay discover a beach that stretches around 15 miles long, perfect if you are planning to work on your tan.

Then wander Sanya City, a wonderful mix of vibrant gardens, historic temples and iconic high-rises, some even shaped like trees with fruit. Be sure to visit the thriving No. 1 Farmers Market, a lively place with quality food vendors, as well as clothing stores and accessories. For an upscale shopping experience, pop along to Summer Mall in Dadonghai Bay and browse international brands and designer stores. The Dadonghai area is picturesque too, with three green topped hills encircling a sandy crescent bay. It's a magnificent beach with a shaded boardwalk and a lively atmosphere that extends into the evening.

At Yalong Bay, you'll find an exclusive region with a rainforest interior, vibrant mountains and one of the best beaches in Hainan. Trek through the forest along one of several well marked trails and walk wooden rope bridges across vast gorges. There's also a high speed train connecting to the island's capital city, Haikou. At the capital, you'll get to explore even more beaches, museums, gardens and temples.

When To Visit

Sanya can be visited at any time of the year with average highs around 25 degrees Celsius month to month. The island experiences two seasons, a dry period from October to April and a wet season from May to September.

The wet season sees temperatures hover around 30 degrees Celsius, and rainfall during these months is more common. Typically, rain is short lived, refreshing and quick to disperse to clear blue skies. As an added bonus, the rainforests are especially beautiful during this time of year.

Food & Drink

Begin your day with a buffet breakfast and await an evening menu of authentic Chinese and Thai cuisine prepared to perfection. Sample a wide range of international specialities and lots of Asian dishes. Be sure to try Wenchang chicken, a renowned dish that originated in Hainan.

Experience fine dining with a personal chef who prepares delicious meals in front of you. Dine under a 100 year old banyan tree or enjoy a romantic candlelit dinner in a private tent on the beach, complete with a personal waiter.
