It’s hard to believe that Marbella was once a simple fishing village. Since the explosion of tourism in the 1950s, its clientele and hotels have bounded forward to a new wave of high-end luxury and well-to-do visitors. Star studded clubs and restaurants line the narrow cobbled streets and, in the marina, a gathering of expensive yachts make this the most luxurious harbour in Spain. Celebrities regularly visit the area, some even have summer homes here which is understandable when you also take in to account Marbella’s stunning selection of 24 beaches and welcoming weather. Depending on the time you visit, you may even find the city caught up in one of its many fun festivals.
