Overview

Florida is glitzy, glamorous, and diverse. In Orlando, you’ll find renowned amusement parks alongside giant skyscrapers. The Gulf Coast, Florida Keys and Atlantic Coast have mesmerising white sand beaches. In Miami, a sizzling fusion of Cuban influences and American ingenuity blends with sandy bays. A luxury holiday to Florida offers a variety of experiences.

Situated between the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, Florida is a natural paradise mixed with technological innovations. In Orlando, world-class theme parks, like Disney World, exist alongside a cosmopolitan city with glamorous skyscrapers. Explore expansive malls with famous designer stores or take advantage of the opportunity to swim with dolphins. Orlando also has many stunning botanical gardens and over one hundred picturesque lakes.

For stunning beaches, head east to the Gulf Coast. This sun-kissed coastline, stretching from St. Petersburg in the north to Naples in the south, features extraordinarily white sands and vivid turquoise waters. Quaint pastel-coloured towns provoke images of a more timeless Florida and interesting museums and art galleries add extra charm to the region's atmosphere. Be sure to visit Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, where you can walk along the bright white bay made of quartz sand.

Travel south to Miami. Here, you'll find endless gold sandy beaches and a lively atmosphere with plenty of Cuban influence. The city sparkles with towering skyscrapers and exciting architecture, like the colourful Art Deco buildings of South Beach. Inventive museums provide a dash of sophistication and elegant bars offer a splash of fire. It's a glamorous city bursting with iconic images and a distinct vibe.

When To Visit

Known as the Sunshine State, Florida enjoys long sunny days and hot weather all year-round. From December to May, high temperatures hover around 25 degrees Celsius, while temperatures in April and May push into the 30s. June to November sees highs around 33 degrees Celsius with tropical weather.

These months also see some rainfall, though usually only from August to October. Rain showers quickly pass to sunny skies and the chances of hurricanes are slim.

Food & Drink

You'll find award-winning restaurants at your luxury hotel in Florida. Start your morning with delicious fresh pastries, bagels and homemade waffles. In the evening, try fresh seafood like lobsters, oysters and pan-seared salmon or meat-based dishes like aged steaks, bacon wrapped filet mignon and Mexican tacos and quesadillas.

Choose from a la carte menus serving authentic Italian pasta and American specialities such as juicy handcrafted burgers and Caribbean favourites like jerk chicken. Sample a great selection of fine wines, refreshing cocktails and exclusive rums.

Passport & Visas

As with any holiday, it's a good idea to carry some identification with you at all times. British citizens need a Visa Waiver Programme or visa to enter the USA. Visit GOV.UK for more advice on passports, visas and travel.
