The Blue Grotto
Accessible by boat, the Blue Grotto is a long, magical sea cave where sunlight shines through an underwater cavity bathing the interior with luminous blue. The colour creates a fantastical scene worthy of a thousand pictures and well worth the trip. In Roman times, Emperor Tiberius used the cave as his personal swimming spot.

Villa Jovis
Completed in the first century AD, Villa Jovis, or the Villa of Jupiter, is a Roman palace built by Emperor Tiberius. Now a well-preserved ruin covering a clifftop, what's left of the palace paints a glorious picture of what the sprawling estate used to look like, and is a wonderful window into the island's past.
