Luxury Thailand Small & Exclusive Holidays

Overview

The Thai islands are hard to beat for scenery: jungle-covered peaks soften to white sandy beaches, which are lapped by the sapphire waters of the surrounding seas. But if that wasn't enough, they are also home to some of the world's most exclusive resorts, which promise first-class service, and unparalleled luxury on your tropical island escape. In the Gulf of Thailand lay Koh Pha-Ngan and Koh Tao. The former is a heavenly island known for its gorgeous beaches, and vibrant Full Moon Parties that take place each month, whilst the latter is an internationally renowned dive resort, where you can delve beneath the surface of the water to discover vibrant coral reefs rich with colourful marine life. If you're looking for seclusion, then visit Koh Kood, also in the Gulf of Thailand, and a bit of a hidden gem. Head west to the Andaman Sea, and you’ll find the islands of Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lanta. Located just a short boat ride from Phuket, the Phi Phi Islands are some of the loveliest in Thailand. Admire the stunning rock formations that rise from tranquil waters, snorkel the translucent waters, or visit Maya Bay where the movie The Beach was filmed. Nearby Koh Lanta, protected by Mu Ko Lanta National Park, features beautiful mangroves, vibrant coral reefs, and dense rainforests.

When To Visit

Thailand is a year-round holiday destination, as in general, temperatures remain between 25 to 30 degrees Celsius for most of the year. However, the weather changes to create three distinct seasons. In May-October there's a higher chance of rainfall, but showers pass quickly leaving clear blue skies. The cool season runs from November to February and brings daily temperatures of around 25 degrees Celsius, whilst averages rise to the mid-30s during the hot season of March to May.

Food & Drink

At your luxury hotel you can expect menus featuring authentic Thai dishes and options from international cuisines like Japanese and Italian. The local cuisine, especially on the islands, incorporates plenty of freshly caught seafood. Specialties include som tum (spicy papaya salad), the iconic pad thai, and red or green curries. Enjoy your meal in some fantastic locations. You can dine poolside, at a private beachfront restaurant, or from the treetops in a dining pod. Some restaurants even provide panoramic views of the sunset, a truly special experience.

Passport & Visas

British citizens do not need a visa to enter Thailand for stays of up to 30 days. It's advisable to carry a photocopy of your passport, and keep your identification on your person whilst you travel. Find more advice on visas and general travel information online at GOV.UK.
