When To Visit
Summer (July to August) is the most popular season to visit this region. There are plenty of events to choose from including music festivals, concerts and open-air cinema screenings. Autumn (September to October) still sees warm temperatures with a quieter atmosphere and is a good time to visit the Douro Valley for the harvest season.
Winter (November to early March) sees the arrival of the heart-warming Christmas markets. Valentine's Day is also a lovely time to visit as the pretty city of Porto is well suited for romance.
