Overview

One of the most instantly recognisable places in the world, Santorini is an island of elegance and indulgence. With its iconic whitewashed buildings capped with sapphire domes, unique beaches, and renowned Greek cuisine, traditional wines and famous sunsets, a luxury holiday in Santorini offers you the very best of romance and relaxation.

Its cliffside villages are famous throughout the Mediterranean, and these offer panoramic views and luxury spas. However, when you think of Santorini, it's likely the image of Oia, which is known for its spectacular sunsets and exclusive hotels.

When To Visit

The weather is hot and dry in Santorini during the summer and temperatures soar well above 25 degrees, with very little rainfall. The island is popular with sun lovers and luxury travellers who tend to visit from June to September when the weather is at its finest.

April to May is a good time to visit for exploring the island by foot, with cooler temperatures around 20 degrees. October has a similar climate and, if you love swimming and snorkelling, the sea tends to be warmer following the summer heatwave.

Food & Drink

Greek cuisine is world-renowned and Santorini's dishes are no exception, you'll experience the true Mediterranean diet here, a mixture of fresh, simple ingredients and the chemistry to turn it into fine dining. Think fresh fish, fruits and vegetables, tender meats, cheeses like feta, olives, excellent wines and of course, the best olive oils.

Discover the 150 year old secret wine cave at Mystique luxury retreat and sample rare wines at a candlelit dinner. Or, try Mediterranean fusion cuisine in an open-air restaurant under the starlit sky at Grace Santorini.

Passport & Visas

You should carry identification with you at all times and keep a photocopy of your passport. British passport holders do not need a visa to visit Santorini and can stay on the island for up to 3 months. Visit GOV.UK for more advice on passports, visas and travel.
