Overview

With a diverse landscape of rolling valleys crisscrossed with the Apennine Mountains and rich, vibrant fields, Tuscany is a picture-perfect region. The towns and cities of the area add layers of beauty, creating an unforgettable retreat destination. Home to some of the world's most iconic landmarks, museums and galleries, Italy's Tuscany region is a pearl of sophistication. Florence, the capital of the area, is where you'll find Renaissance masterpieces in both art and architecture.

A luxury holiday in Tuscany offers first-class hotels with indulgent spas, Tuscan cooking and art classes, wildlife tours and much more.

When To Visit

Tuscany enjoys a mild climate with hot summers. From June to September, temperatures sit around 25 to 30 degrees Celsius, which is perfect weather for long days of luxury by the pool. If you prefer slightly cooler temperatures, journey to Tuscany in April, May or October.

The weather at this time is ideal for exploring the region and for sunbathing. In winter, the climate is still mild and Tuscany becomes a more relaxed place, so these times are good for exploring the landscapes.

Food & Drink

With Tuscan produce including fresh seafood, tender meats, and olives from vibrant hillside groves, you'll find the food here exceptional. And some of the finest vineyards in Italy are here, too. Make sure to sample the famous Chianti wines.

Imagine beginning your day with a buffet breakfast and finishing it with a world-class Tuscan dinner, served on a terrace with breathtaking views of Tuscany. And don't forget the simple pleasures of authentic pasta and pizza, perfect for families, or sweet local treats like castagnaccio cake, made with chestnut flour.

Passport & Visas

As with any holiday, it's a good idea to have some identification with you, so consider making a photocopy of your passport. British citizens don't need a visa to enter Italy. Visit GOV.UK for more advice on passports, visas and travel.
