Overview

The smallest emirate of the United Arab Emirates, Ajman stretches along the Arabian Gulf. It's a beautiful place with a relaxed atmosphere. At Ajman City, you'll find a modern skyline nestled between a vast beach and a lagoon rich with mangrove forests. Explore lots of museums, incense-infused souks and modern malls with designer wares. Stroll the Corniche and the golden shoreline and enjoy traditional pastimes like camel racing.

Take a short journey from Ajman City to the quaint village of Masfout and discover a paradise for nature lovers. Cradled by the Hajar Mountains, Masfout is an ideal place for hiking. Craggy rocks and cliffs peak across the land and vibrant fields lay in green valleys. Trek a low mountaintop and reach Masfout Castle, a 19th-century tower that watches over the town. Admire the panoramic views and exhilarating landscape.

Spend a day at the nearby emirate of Sharjah and wander even more museums and ornate mosques with lofty minarets. Visit the Sharjah Art Museum with its collection of modern Arabian artworks and stop by the Sharjah Desert Park. This park contains four venues in one with a natural history museum, a botanical garden, an interactive farm and Arabia's Wildlife Centre, home to exotic animals such as flamingos, hyenas, leopards, vipers, wildcats and wolves.
