California Activities

California
Griffith Park
This hilltop park may not be the most famous attraction in LA, but it’s one of the most scenic parks. Home to Griffith Observatory, which appears in numerous Hollywood movies, the park also boasts a zoo, theatre, ornamental garden, miniature railway, walking trails and – most significantly – the block-lettered Hollywood sign. It’s an excellent place for a day trip.
California
Wine Tasting in Napa Valley
Napa Valley produces a vast variety of wines from rich Cabernets to sweet Chardonnays. Whether you’re a real connoisseur or only looking to learn about and sample Californian wine, a day of wine tasting at the Valley’s various wineries is highly recommended. Round your tour off at the Oxbow Public Market in Napa, a hub for local gourmet produce.
California
Golden Gate Bridge
San Francisco’s most famous landmark is this large suspension bridge, which connects the city with Marin County. For the best experience hike or cycle across it and snap photos from either side of the water. Back in San Francisco, take a stroll along the sandy beach at Crissy Field – the views from here are fantastic.
California
Disneyland Resort
Even if you’re not travelling with young children, you can’t miss a visit to this iconic amusement park which first opened in 1955. Stroll through the themed areas, going back in time at Frontierland or glimpsing the future at Tomorrowland. Photos with your favourite Disney characters and a shot of Sleeping Beauty’s castle are a must.
California
Visit the Redwoods
For nature lovers, one of California’s major draws is its abundance of ancient redwood and sequoia trees. You can see these trees at Yosemite’s Mariposa Grove, Sequoia National Park, Redwood National and State Park, and Muir Woods National Monument. Ancient redwood and sequoia trees are the largest and one of the oldest tree species in the world.
