It really has to be one of the world’s most scenic coastal drives. Leaving Melbourne and travelling west you will pick up the Great Ocean Road just after Anglesea. The road hugs the coast and offers spectacular views of towering limestone stacks, immense sand dunes, ancient rainforests and old volcanoes. Sections of inland road take you through Great Otway National Park, while the coastal Port Campbell National Park, Twelve Apostles and Bay of Islands Coastal Park keeps you on the sea-view course. The drive incorporates towns and great historical sites, while the wildlife includes whales, which can be seen from the dunes of Logans’ Beach. We love this road – such an adventure and for once, driving will not be a chore!
