‘Zulu history, African culture, leading hospitality’

Overlooking the site of the Anglo-Zulu battle of 1879, Isandlwana Lodge is a peaceful hideaway set within the beauty of the Zululand hills. It wasn’t always this peaceful however, as the guided tours will shed light on the bloody battles that unfolded on these very battlefields. Today, this area is used to enlighten guests on the events that marred this region of South Africa, giving it its unique history. It’s a great area for winter sun as well as other outdoor pursuits like fishing, rambling and bird watching.

In Our Opinion

‘Culture, history and outdoor pursuits come together to form an appealing and enlightening place to stay. Some of the nearby walking trails offer challenging 3hr rambles whilst game reserves offer a departure from learning about the events that gave the Battlefields its name’
