Okavango Delta

Sanctuary Chief’s Camp

Deluxe

‘Magnificent Game Viewing’

Residing on Chief’s island in the Mombo Concession of the Moremi Game Reserve, Sanctuary Chiefs Camp sits in an area often referred to as the “predator capital of Africa”. Not only can you discover the reserve's vast wildlife through game drives, but also by boat due to the seasonal flood waters of the Okavango Delta. Mokoros – local dugout canoes, are calmly guided through lily-filled lagoons and streams by expert guides who point out hippos, crocodiles and antelopes. Relaxing moments can be found as you unwind in the swimming pool or with a treatment from the Spa’s organic, fair trade Africology range. At the end of the day gather around the boma for pre-dinner drinks before savouring a sumptuous three course meal. On special occasions, find romantic private dining by the pool or on your private bush pavilion deck overlooking the Okavango Delta floodplains.

In Our Opinion

‘Luxury camp in an exclusive setting with unique game viewing opportunities.’

Breakfast & Lunch
After a full English or continental breakfast you will then depart on a morning game drive, upon your return you can enjoy a buffet lunch under the trees out on the deck of the main area. Savour an afternoon tea selection of cakes, warm scones and quiche before heading back out for an afternoon drive; ending with sundowner cocktails and canapés at a specially selected spot.
Dinner
Following pre-dinner drinks around the boma area, savour a sumptuous three course meal with mains including dishes such as grilled impala with port and chocolate sauce on roast sweet potato. For special occasions, romantic private dining can also be arranged on your suite deck or by the pool.

Guests at Sanctuary Chiefs Camp can enjoy game drives or mokoro excursions.

Game drives

Led by highly qualified guides, game drives are carried out in customised open 4x4 vehicles and can be enjoyed either in the morning or afternoon. On the plains, you may spot rare wild dog predators and numerous local lion prides amongst other wildlife.

Mokoro excursions

Each June the surrounding area of the camp floods and turns into lily-filled lagoons and streams where hippos can be seen up close and crocodiles can be sighted preying on antelopes as they linger for a drink.
