Plettenberg Bay

Hog Hollow Country Lodge

Official Rating

‘A Hospitable Haven Under Glorious African Skies’

Overlooking the Matjies River Gorge, this congenial hub is where it all happens.; you are invited to kick off your shoes, grab a icy drink from the bar and relax . There are three lounge areas to escape to for reading or watching through binoculars; they enjoy an outlook onto of the indigenous forest valley and Tsitsikama Mountains or for bird lovers the Ficus lounge where an ancient fruit-laden tree is a favourite with Plett's prolific bird community. At the centre of the Main House is their famously large dining room table where guests can plan their daily activities over breakfast and unwind in the evening around a candle-lit table laden with gourmet delights.

In Our Opinion

‘Hog Hollow Country Lodge exists primarily because of the spectacular attractions that surround it so whenever you wish to explore you will have umpteen inspiring choices; your tranquil base with its pool, sauna and serene spaces is a home in which to be yourself and relax with your thoughts’

Breakfast
On crisp clear mornings, farmhouse breakfasts are served on the boma deck overlooking the forest and mountains or near the huge fireplace when it is cooler; a delectable buffet with special treats and a glass of bubbly plus a seriously scrumptious variety of hot breakfast items too.
Dinner
At the centre of the Main House is a large dining room table where guests gather at dinner time; dinners being out at the boma with tasty little treats to whet the appetite.  The day ends and the full splendour of the African stars shine down on deck as your hosts invite you in to wine and dine in the candle-lit main house. If communal dining is not your thing, there are lots of lovely little areas where you can dine privately.
