‘Great Beach, Friendly Atmosphere’

The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel is situated on the Kohala Coast of Hawaii along a crescent bay of golden sand. This hotel has been around since 1965, built by Laurance S. Rockerfeller and underwent massive repair and refurbishment a few years ago. The resort now offers 258 guestrooms and suites that are elegant yet modern plus a renowned golf course. Down the coast is its sister resort,Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel which also offers similar amenities. The Mauna Kea offers plenty of fun activities mixed in with traditional parts of Hawaiian culture and the same goes for the food – you’ll find standard classics alongside delicious local dishes, all to be enjoyed with a great view of the bay.

Sunday Brunch

A Sunday brunch buffet complete with lunch and breakfast favourites held on the terrace. What really makes the Sunday Brunch though is the Temptation Table, just jam-packed with decadent desserts.

Oceanfront Lu’au

One of the finest and most fun Hawaiian traditions! Held at the resort every Tuesday and Friday, the lu’au is magical. The crashing of the surf, the Hawaiian music and dancing, the random flashes of fire and the glow of the sinking sun – this is Hawaiian culture at its best! Add to that the groaning tables full of local dishes such as roast kalua pig, sashimi and laulau and you won’t want the night to end.

Clambake

The Mauna Kea Clambake is held al fresco by the beach. Dine on lobster, shrimp, crab, oysters, mussels and clams as the Hawaiian music moves you to shake your stuff under the stars.

Manta & Pavilion Wine Bar

A breakfast buffet in the morning and at night? Manta & Pavilion Wine Bar offers guests an Enomatic wine experience – a new way to serve 48 delicious wines along with some superb food.

Number 3

Especially loved by the hungry golfer, this restaurant resides in the 19th hole clubhouse and serves delicious dishes such as Classic Crab Louis as well as refreshing beverages.

Hau Tree

A cool, relaxed restaurant right by the beach. Hau Tree serves salads, sandwiches, burgers and seafood plus delicious ice cream treats.

Copper Terrace

The Copper Terrace is a great place to end your day. Sit around with family and friends sipping a cocktail as you watch the torch being lit to signal days end. After that, indulge in whatever speciality the restaurant has created that day whether it be sushi or a yakitori grill. Perfect.
