A member of the Classic Safari Camps of Africa, Garonga Safari Camp offers lavish tented bedrooms with an abundance of space, enhanced by wide windows giving views of the surrounding bush land. You’ll enjoy spending time in these delightful rooms, but the real fun begins outside where charming wildlife in its natural habitat is the real star.

‘Meals are served in resort in typically South African ‘safari style’ – namely as a shared experience either within the dining room or on the external terrace or gathered around a camp fire. There is no bar / restaurant scene - but you don't have to without great food or any drinks of your choosing'
Whether a romantic table for two in the main lounge, out enjoying a bush breakfast, or under the stars at the Bush Boma, each meal at Garonga Safari Camp is an entire safari dining experience in itself. Meal locations and themes vary so you can enjoy the Makalali Game Reserve from all angles. All local and globally influenced cuisine is paired with the best South African wines and chefs gladly accommodate all dietary needs.

Bush Bath and Sleep Out: Take some time for yourself and breathe in the fresh air of the bushveld - revitalise your mind, body and soul. Sleep out on your own on a beautiful deck with stunning views overlooking the veldt. A mouth-watering picnic hamper, a drinks box, and hot drinks are left for you at the deck. You are left with a radio and will get collected in the morning. A wash basin and toilet close by are provided. It is a 20 minute drive from the main camp. A truly magical experience!

Room Options
Location
There are several options for you to get to Garonga Safari Camp. The camp is around 75 minutes drive from Hoedspruit Airport, alternatively it is a 20 minute drive from Garonga's airstrip.
Daily chartered flights are available from OR Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg) to Garonga's airstrip with Federal Air. This is a 90 minute flight, and includes use of the Federal Airlines Lounge. Luggage restriction of 20kg per person, in soft baggage only.
You also have the option of flying into Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (KMIA) and then getting a private charter flight to Garonga with CessZani Aviation, an owner-operated air charter company offering flights between lodges in the Lowveld to/from KMIA. Luggage restriction of 20kg per person, in soft baggage only.
