Red Cliffs Lodge

Official Rating

‘Perfect Place To Relax and Explore A Piece Of The Old West’

Red Cliffs Lodge lies 14 miles up the Colorado River on scenic Highway 128 from downtown Moab beside white water rapids and at the foot of stunning red rock cliffs. Several movies were shot here including Rio Grande with John Wayne and the lodge maintains the Moab Movie Museum, telling the story of film-making in the area. The main building is surrounded by porches and decks while the restaurant patio and deck face eastwards up the river with an uninterrupted view of Fisher Towers 10 miles away and the river 100 feet beneath. Red Cliffs Lodge is also the home of the Castle Creek Winery, the largest in Utah, with daily opportunities for tastings and The Cowboy Grill, a terraced dining room with tasty Western cuisine and great Colorado River views.

In Our Opinion

‘A quiet and relaxing Old West lodge with a fascinating movie history and a museum to prove it, a great base from which to explore the impressive natural attractions of the Moab area.’
