Named after the great explorer of the same name, the Admiral Cheng Ho Suite is decorated with antique Chinese and South-East Asian fittings. Set over two storeys, this suite is full of character and ample space. The centre piece of the suite is undoubtedly the antique Chinese opium bed, a princely piece of hand carved magic.
These generously sized Garden Rooms are ideal for a couple and offer modern amenities and easy access to the frangipani scented courtyard. The room is adorned with dark wood features and a plush four poster king size bed. French doors open onto a miniature Parterre Garden with wall fountain.
The suites in the Grand Apartment may be booked individually meaning you have private rooms but also share the living room and veranda with your neighbours. The suites are charming spaces with rustic teak floorboards, antique chests and cabinets and an enormous Dutch spiral four poster bed to boot. Relax on the terrace on your daybed or admire the original artwork dotted around on the walls.
The largest suite in the house, the Library Suite is perfect for small families and contains ample space. Two elegant four poster king size beds sit side by side and set the tone for what is a charming abode. A generous bathroom offers an open shower, while there is a spacious sitting area and a chest and almirah made of the finest satinwood and ebony.
This large double storey suite features an ultra-comfortable sitting room and dining space on the ground floor and the bedroom on the first floor. A six metre atrium is located above the staircase which opens onto a sunlit inner courtyard. Relax on the veranda with views of the courtyard and the pool.
This two storey suite acts as a mini private villa that is both luxurious and private. Designed and rebuilt to welcome small families, the mezzanine level offers a double bed and space in which children can run free. The ground floor is equipped with a king size bed, a sitting area and dining space. The Mews Suite is only a stone’s throw away from the swimming pool.
Offering a similar floor area to the Loft Suite, the Porcelain Suite has the added luxury of a dressing room-come-bathroom. Blue and white plates from China adorn the suite in homage to the nearby Fort which really add to the rustic feel of the abode. Wood features are prevalent and stylish furnishings are plentiful, including antique cabinets and a plush four poster bed.
Designed by the Count de Mauny Talvande, The Grand Apartment occupies the entirety of the top floor and features two bedrooms, each with a bathroom and shower. A full length colonnaded veranda offers uninterrupted views of the Fort’s sun bleached roof tops.
