Saseka is the Tsonga word for beautiful and this is the flagship tented camp on the extensive Thornybush Reserve. Opened in 2019, it sets a new standard in luxury tented camp accommodation in this famous safari region. The lodge reveals distinctive modern features, combined with the romance of safaris of yesteryear. The design of the lodge and suites blends in with the environment on the banks of the Monwana dry-riverbed in this game-rich reserve.
In Our Opinion
A very funky, cool and opulent tented camp which retains the feeling of being a part of the bush and open to the natural surroundings of the huge Thornybush reserve. Don't let the word tent fool you, they combine luxury, style and space. And the game and guiding are first class.
The main area has a large, tiered deck with views of the riverbed and a cleverly designed roof that mimics the dappled light of a tree canopy. This is where guests love to meet for a drink or a meal, share stories and listen to the sounds of the surrounding bush.
