Thornybush Game Reserve

Shumbalala at Thornybush Game Reserve

‘Lavish Luxury in the African Bushveld’

At the heart of the 14,000 hectare Thornybush Reserve bordering the Kruger National Park and sitting along the banks of the seasonal Monwana river this camp provides the sort of luxury that is rarely found in the African bushveld. Accommodation is opulent and tranquil and being in a ‘camp’ in this instance does not mean any loss of luxury amenities; suites include privacy, air conditioning, sumptuous furnishings and some have private plunge pools. Game drives and viewing opportunities are second to none here and your experienced and knowledgeable rangers will welcome you into their world of wildlife with enthusiasm. Dining at Shumbalala is a sumptuous affair served indoors in elegance, outside in an open boma with roaring fire, by a riverbed at high tea time or even romantically in a specially designed cellar overlooking the water hole

In Our Opinion

Boma
An open-air boma with a fireplace makes an atmospheric magical place in which to enjoy your evening meal
Cellar
Romantic dinners take on a whole new meaning when enjoyed in the specially designed cellar with its view over the water hole; compliment your gourmet meal with a fine selection of wines and enjoy the view!
