This year, Destinology are doing something a little different. Our staff and partners understand that more needs to be done, by us all, to protect our environment. We’re excited to begin our green journey, and launching our Green Friday campaign seems like the perfect way to introduce it.

We want to present some of the greenest hotels and sustainability-led destinations that we offer. There’s Domes Resorts, who give children the chance to plant and water their own herbs and flowers during their stay. Or Six Senses Zighy Bay, whose industry-leading practices ensure sustainability is built into the very foundation of their hotel. These hotels demonstrate how luxurious living and stunning sea views can be enjoyed sustainably, so you don’t need to sacrifice your holiday to be environmentally conscious.

For those of you looking to tick an African safari off your bucket list, maybe consider Grootbos, who understand that once-in-a-lifetime experiences don’t necessarily need to be single-use. They’re the first lodge in South Africa to go carbon negative, and this has been achieved by contributing to reforestation efforts and the production of renewable energy.

In Thailand, Elephant Hills have significantly reduced plastics and work hard to offset CO2, while out in the beautiful Maldives, you can discover the rich biodiversity around the resort of Gili Lankanfushi, protected by EarthCheck. This is the leading certification program that sets the benchmark for sustainability within the industry.

Ecologi, an environmental conservation organisation who compensate our carbon footprint by planting trees and funding climate change projects. We’ve purchased five-hundred trees to begin with, and we’ll donate fifty trees for every booking made until 30th November. If you feel as though sustainability has entered your thoughts when planning your next holiday, you’re not alone. More and more of our customers want to visit our incredible hotels and resorts responsibly, so if this is you, please get in touch with our travel concierge and book a holiday between 26th-30th November and we’ll make sure fifty trees are planted around the world on your behalf.
