1. Casa De Campo, Dominican Republic
Stars such as Beyonce, Michael Jackson, and Vin diesel have all had holidays at Casa De Campo in the Dominican Republic and we can certainly see why. Set in a 7000-acre tropical resort in La Romana, it offers rooms, suites, and villas with private pools. There are also champion golf courses, a large marina, tennis courts, polo facilities and the stunning white sandy coast of Minitas Beach.
Just beyond the resort are the two islands of Catalina and Saona Islands which offer hidden beaches and plenty to explore. There are some delicious culinary treats on offer including a sushi restaurant, Italian cuisine and traditional Dominican cuisines such as seafood and stews. If it’s good enough for Beyonce, it’s good enough for us!
2. Trisara Resort Phuket, Thailand
Cheryl Cole and Kate Moss are both fans of Phuket’s most luxurious resort, which is nestled in a cove in the tropical hills of north-western Phuket. Private villas and residences sit on the tropical hillsides, surrounded by ficus trees, coconut and fishtail palms with views straight out to sea.
Villas have stunning infinity pools with views of the beach and tropical greenery in complete privacy. The resort is also well known for its delicious Thai seafood dishes, which are inspired by local ‘mama’ recipes. Cheryl and Kate may also have enjoyed the resort’s spa facilities which are inspired by the Ficus tree and include traditional Thai healing practices and organic massages. Maybe we will come out looking like a supermodel too?
3. Cape Grace, South Africa
Cape Grace’s strap line is ‘You have to stay here at least once in your lifetime’ and celebrities including Bill Clinton, Matt Damon and Oprah Winfrey have done just that.
Located on a private quay between Cape Town’s waterfront and the yacht marina, the resort is in a prime position to view the Mother City and the real essence of Cape Town. Here you will find tasting menus, whiskey pairings, spa treatments and delicious afternoon teas. Rooms are spacious and feature colonial style furnishings with views out to the waterfront and each has personally selected books and a private mini bar. The resort has towering dramatic mountains in the background making for stunning scenery from all angles.
4. Royal Monceau, Paris
Kim and Kanye have spent a lot of time in the city of Paris and have stayed at the chic Parisian hotel Royal Monceau several times. It features a 99-seat cinema, an art gallery, and a private art collection and is just a stone’s throw from Champs Elysees and Arc de Triomphe.
Kim may have enjoyed the Spa My Blend by Clarins, a 1500sqm space which houses the longest swimming pool in a Paris hotel and features private trainers, yoga and Pilates classes, a hammam, watsu basin and many other treatments, oh and did we mention it is award-winning? Feeling peckish? Then you are in luck as the hotel has Japanese cuisine in its Matsuhisa restaurant to Italian dishes in the Michelin-star restaurant II Carpaccio.
5. Jumeriah Zabeel Saray, Dubai
John Travolta and Nicole Scherzinger are huge fans of Jumeriah Zabeel Saray in Dubai and so are we! From the five-star luxury and location on Dubai’s iconic Palm Jumeirah, there is lots to discover at this iconic hotel. Featuring views of the Arabian Gulf and Dubai’s skyline, the hotel has 379 guest rooms, 26 suites, and 38 royal residencies.
There is a 59-metre infinity pool, a private beach and a huge spa with 42 treatment rooms. There are 10 restaurants and nightlife venues to choose from on-site, 16 boutiques for those wanting to shop till they drop, and a 29-seat private cinema......and two floodlit tennis courts. Phew! Their motto ‘We invite you to expect more’ needs to be experienced to be believed!
