Celebrity Cruises® is launching its new ‘Edge’. We've taken a peek.
World Class Designers
World-renowned interior designer Kelly Hoppen MBE, internationally acclaimed architect Tom Wright and Celebrity’s very own Nate Berkus who is a celebrity in his own right are the creative minds behind the ships unique design.
New stateroom surprises
Almost 70% of the staterooms are larger. In fact, the bedrooms are 23% and the bathrooms 10% larger than in Celebrity Solstice class balcony rooms. The best news of all is that they come with infinite balconies – a first in the cruise industry. These special balconies effortlessly blur inside and outside space boundaries at the touch of a button and it’s not just the balcony you can control automatically. The latest technology also allows you to control everything from lighting to curtains to temperature and service with a simple touch screen.
New Iconic Suites
There are just two of the super-special Iconic Suites. They’re the largest in the entire fleet, coming in at an astonishing 1,880 square feet and that’s not even including the 685 square feet outdoor space with its Jacuzzi and stylish furnishings. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms, there’s room enough for six guests
New Edge Villas
The second new suite category is the Edge Villas. These luxury residences have never been attempted before in the fleet and they seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor living with two-storeys of windows that look out over a terrace. Features include a lounge, 3ft. deep plunge pool, and fantastic ocean or land viewing opportunities. There’s 950 square feet of indoor-outdoor bliss to play with here, perfect for families of up to four.
The Retreat is far more than a club lounge at sea. It’s for the exclusive access of Suite Class guests. However, if you happen to be in a non-suite room that’s connected to a suite then you’ll also be able to enjoy this space. There’s a Jacuzzi and full-size pool with dedicated pool butlers, poolside cocktails and fresh towels. The exclusive concierge here will take care of your every need while you sip on complimentary beverages and enjoy gourmet bites. Finally, you’re invited to take your seats at Luminae, an exclusive restaurant crafted by Michelin-starred Executive chef Cornelius Gallagher. It’s open morning, noon and night.
It makes perfect sense. You came on a cruise to relax and what better way than in a garden? You could finally finish that book on one of the cosy chairs, have a ‘friendly’ game of giant chess or catch a movie with a twist at ‘A Taste of Film’, a delightful fusion of food and film. Live bands and cocktails make a perfect evening combination or simply while away the time in the Rooftop Garden Grill where gourmet burgers, and BBQs are waiting.
The Magic Carpet
If ever you needed proof of the futuristic credentials of ‘Edge’ all you need to consider is the Magic Carpet. It’s the size of a tennis court, 13 storeys above sea level and is the world’s first cantilevered floating platform. It takes pride of place on the starboard side with a full bar, comfortable seating and room for live performances. Offering some of the best views onboard, this space transforms into a new venue depending on which deck it is positioned. You’ll be high in the sky on the top deck, enjoy live poolside music on Deck 14, join the restaurant on Deck 5 and embark in luxury on Deck 2.
Climb aboard from 16th December 2018 and get the edge over your cruising friends!
