From thousands of migrating wildebeests to a brand new Star Wars Theme Park in California, there’s lots going on this month. If you’re looking for some inspiration on where to go next, then you have come to the right place…

Kenya Twin Migration

Right this very second, thousands of wildebeest and other wildlife are making the journey from the Serengeti to the Masai Mara in search of fertile lands. This is an astounding spectacle to behold and has been described as one of ‘seven new wonders of the world’. Whilst all of this is happening on-land, humpback whales are also making a trip of their own to find warmer waters, making it a great time to spot them. Watching a humpback breach the waters is a moment to behold. As you can see from this tour, it’s easy to combine both in the same trip, and extremely rewarding.

Antigua

With a surge in new luxury hotels in Antigua, established hotels here have had to really up their game. The result: superb in-resort service and some amazing deals to be found. This just adds to the allure of Antigua, one of the two major islands that make up the Caribbean nation of Antigua and Barbuda. Visitors here can expect powder white sands, warm clear waters and extreme relaxation. Of the new hotel openings, Hodge’s Bay Resort & Spa offers an enticing option with premium inclusions like non-motorised water sports.

Turkey

With its beautiful climate, intriguing history and gorgeous beach resorts, it’s no wonder that Turkey is a holiday favourite. While you could choose to stick to one area like Dalaman or Antalya, a multi-destination tour opens up a world of opportunities and leaves a lasting impression. For example, by starting in Istanbul you get to see Turkey in a different light, discovering it’s ancient past, cruising along the Bosphorus and wandering the bazaars filled with spices. Then it’s a short flight to Bodrum with its gold sands and tranquil bays. Interested? Check it out.

Mexico

Whether travelling as honeymooners, family or friends, Mexico ticks lots of boxes. No matter the budget, you’ll find something for you here. For example, take the resorts around Cancun and Riviera Maya, many of which run ultra-all-inclusive programmes where the only things that cost extra are things like spa treatments and high-end wines. One such hotel is Haven Riviera Resort & Spa, set between Cancun and Riviera Maya. This adults-only retreat is made up entirely of suites with whirlpool tubs or swim-out pools, perfect.

Khao Lak & Elephant Hills

There’s some absolutely amazing value to be found in Thailand right now. While visitors may be drawn to well-known destinations like Phuket, Phi Phi and Kho Samui, and rightly so, there’s plenty of other gems that are well worth discovering too. One such example is Khao Lak, a place brimming with beautiful nature. From hot springs and cascading waterfalls to national park trekking and shipwreck diving, there’s so much to do here, every day is a new adventure. It’s also close to the Elephant Hills Camp where you can feed and bathe the friendly elephants, creating moments to treasure for a lifetime. If this sounds like your type of thing, check out our tour.

Star Wars Theme Park

Named Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, the theme park feels like a long time coming for Star Wars fans. It officially opened on May 31st in Anaheim, California, offering visitors the chance to explore the world of Batuu and Black Spire Outpost. Hop in the cockpit of an iconic Millennium Falcon for an interactive smuggling mission – don’t worry if you’ve never flown a spaceship before, training is provided. There’s also the chance to build your own droid and lightsaber – will you choose to be a Jedi or join the dark side?

Katikies Villas, Mykonos

Opened on the 1st of June, these brand-new villas sit just above Elia Beach, around 10km away from Mykonos Town. The villas benefit from being private, intimate retreats, while still offering access to the facilities of Katikies Mykonos Hotel - including an infinity pool and spa. Overlooking the bay and turquoise Aegean Sea, chic villas range from one to three bedroom, making them perfect for couples, families or groups. All come with private pools and 24-hour in-villa dining.

Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi

Another new theme park, this time on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. Warner Bros. is the home of lovable characters such as The Flintstones, Bugs Bunny, Scooby Doo, Tom and Jerry, Batman and Superman. See them all here as you wander through Bedrock and Gotham City, take a ride in the Batmobile and work out the Joker’s riddles. The Yas Express is a free return shuttle service that picks guests up from hotels across Abu Dhabi and takes them to Yas Island.

LUX* North Male Atoll

Opened only earlier this year, a short speedboat transfer from Male will take you to LUX* North Male Atoll where a tranquil paradise awaits. The resort offers villas and residents all with private pools and terraces, while some are set serenely above water, as is the spa. If not relaxing on the pristine beach, visitors here can dive and snorkel the house reef, play tennis at the courts, jet ski and depart on whale and dolphin trips.

Ritz-Carlton Abama

This Moorish-inspired resort sits on the southwest coast of Tenerife, offering seven pools, beach access, a spa, tennis courts and an 18-hole championship golf course. With Tenerife’s beautiful climate at this time of year, it makes for an ideal retreat. Kids will also love it here with a range of diverse activities on astronomy, underwater exploration, wildlife, theatre, arts and crafts. New changes for the half board have been introduced, as well as a completely new full board option.
