    Depart on an overnight flight from the UK to Kuala Lumpur.

    Kuala Lumpur

    Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by your guide for your private transfer to your hotel.

  • Day 3
    Malacca and Peranakan culture

    Your guide will pick you up early morning for a trip to Malacca. See the Dutch and Portuguese influences in this port city and visit the community of the Peranakans, who throughout their history have adopted the ways of the Malays and later the British, to create a unique lifestyle and set of customs. Visit the home of a local, gaining insight into their lifestyle and traditions.

  • Day 4
    Kuala Lumpur

    Today is free at leisure. The capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur is a place where futuristic skyscrapers tower above forested parks. In the centre, wander the 50 acre garden of KLCC Park and capture stunning views of the Petronas Towers. Visit Bukit Bintang to sample the premier shopping and restaurants, and be sure to stop by Aquaria KLCC, a world renowned oceanarium with over 5,000 exhibits.

  • Day 5
    Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu

    Head to the airport for your flight to Kota Kinabalu, the gateway to the tropical island of Borneo, one of the world's largest islands with its rainforest, nature and tribal traditions. The interior is a land of mystery away from the modern world and after a few days on the coast you can head into the jungle.  Transfer to your hotel for a relaxing afternoon.

  • Day 6
    Kota Kinabalu

    An exciting drive today takes you over the ridges of the Crocker Range, past paddy fields and local homes towards the foothills of Mt. Kinabalu. Explore this vast and beautiful park as you learn about the various plant, mammal and bird species. Then its another short drive to Poring with its dramatic canopy walkways hanging 41 metres above the forest floor. After all this excitement, relax in the soothing hot spring pools before returning to the city.

  • Day 7
    Kota Kinabalu

    Today brings a visit to Mari Mari village, accessed through a suspension bridge above a flowing river. This is a fantastic chance to gain insight into the lives of the locals as you visit the tribe’s house and participate in activities. A delicious meal is then served before returning back to your hotel.

  • Day 8
    Kota Kinabalu to Abai

    Head to the airport for your flight to Sandakan, where upon arrival you will be transferred to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Here, observe man’s closest relative as they are rehabilitated to become wild in their natural habitat. Then it’s a visit to Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre which works to improve the lives of rescued sun bears.

    From Sandakan jetty, depart on a lovely cruise up to Lower Kinabatangan River Sanctuary, taking in lush mangrove forest. Search for wildlife into the night as you swap water for jungle, on the lookout snakes and insects with your nature guide.

  • Day 9
    Abai to Sukau

    Rise to the calls of nature with an early morning trip to Pitas Lake, where you are invited to join a village walk with the locals and enjoy food that they have prepared. After, cruise up the river to Sukau village in search of wildlife including the fascinating Endemic Proboscis Monkeys. Continue up the beautiful Menanggul River before returning to your lodge.

  • Day 10
    Sukau to Danum Valley

    A scenic drive today takes you through forest, cocoa and softwood plantations to Danum Valley. The lodge here is home to stunning fauna including the rare Sumatran rhinoceros, pgymy elephants and clouded leopards, plus 275 species of birds. Take some time to relax, with a night drive or walk available later on.

  • Day 11
    Danum Valley

    Wake early to capture the forest in its stunning morning glow, before spending the entire day on the lookout for birds and mammals. An escarpment even leads to a set of ancient burial coffins. Trek right up to the waterfalls and you will be rewarded with some rock pools to cool off from the heat.

  • Day 12
    Danum Valley to Kota Kinabalu

    Following one last trek in the morning, depart on a flight to Kota Kinabalu where you will be met and guided to your hotel.  Wash the steamy jungle away and relax on the white sands of Sabah's coastline in a 5 star resort for a few days.

    Kota Kinabalu

    This time is for you to enjoy to yourself and soak up the beautiful scenery around Kota Kinabalu where verdant peaks fall into tropical seas. Surrounded by rainforest, this coastal city is a place with vibrant markets, gorgeous beaches and some fantastic nearby snorkelling and scuba diving.
