Belmond Khwai River Lodge to Belmond Eagle Island Lodge

Today you will be making your way from the Khwai region to the famous Okavango Delta, known for its rich wildlife, water-based activities and for being the world’s second largest ever-changing inland delta.

The Okavango Delta is both a permanent and seasonal water source, getting most of its water from the Angolan rainfall in January & February. This water comes from the Cubango and Cuito Rivers, passes through Namibia and travels around 1,200 kms to reach the delta by March and peaking in July, swelling to nearly three times its area size. This draws the animals in, creating one of Africa’s largest concentrations of wildlife and the best time to travel here.
