    UK – Negombo

    After arriving at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be met and transferred to Negombo. Drive time around 30 minutes. Check in and unwind.

  • Day 3
    Negombo – Kandy

    Following breakfast, your chauffeur will transfer you to the city of Kandy, around 4 hours away. This hill capital was the last stronghold of the Shinhala kings and still retains the charm of a bygone era. It is the centre of the island’s handicraft industry and its traditional dances are legendary. The Royal Botanical Gardens and the “Temple of the Tooth” are not to be missed.

  • Day 4
    Kandy

    Today brings a flavoursome journey into Sri Lankan cuisine. In the morning, join a local on her visit to the markets as she searches for the freshest and most delicious produce. Then return to her kitchen and cook up some delicacies. Later, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth in time for the evening Puja Ceremony. This important shrine holds the tooth relic of Buddha.

  • Day 5
    Kandy

    Relax in the tranquil surroundings of the resort and take in the laidback atmosphere. At lunch time, visit the Kandy Samadhi Centre by the banks of the Hulu Hanga River. Enjoy some tasty food and admire the views.

  • Day 6
    Kandy – Gal Oya

    Continue your journey through the island, heading towards the lesser known National Park Gal Oya. It’s almost as if time hasn’t changed in this ancient land. Immerse yourself into nature at your eco lodge set on a 20-acre private jungle. Transfer time around 3 and a half hours.

    Gal Oya

    Gal Oya Lodge offers a range of exclusive experience to their guests. One such activity is a boat safari on Sri Lanka’s largest lake. This allows you to see wildlife from a new perspective – if you’re lucky, you may see elephants swimming between islands or bathing at the water’s edge.

  • Day 8
    Gal Oya

    For an insight into the local culture, join the Veddha village chief as he takes you on a walk through the jungles of his ancestors. The forest comes alive as he explains his tribe’s use of medicinal plants, the location of their ancient hunting grounds and cave dwellings.

    Alternatively, simply relax on the river banks and enjoy a lovely picnic (optional).

  • Day 9
    Gal Oya – Uga Bay

    Now it’s time for the next part of your journey. After breakfast, your chauffeur guide will pick you up and take you towards Pasikudah, around 3 hours away. Once here, check in to the beach resort of Uga Bay.

    Uga Bay

    Spend some time here to just relax and take in the beautiful surroundings.

    Uga Bay – Wallawwa

    Your chauffeur will pick you up and take you to the Batticaloa airbase from where you will board a scheduled flight to Bandaranaike International Airport. Here, you will be met and guided to Wallawwa. This hidden retreat was formerly part of the RAF’s headquarters during WW2.
