    Depart on an overnight flight from the UK to Saigon.

    Upon arrival in Saigon, you will be met and guided to your hotel.

  • Day 3
    Saigon

    Immerse yourself in the city with a tour of landmarks like the Saigon Opera House, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office and Presidential Palace. After taking in the historic architecture, a stop at one of the many cafes offers a chance to relax and observe daily life in the city. Continue to Chinatown to see the beautiful Thien Hau Pagoda – here, visitors make a wish, write it on a small card and attach it to one of the incense coils in the hope that it comes true.

    Later on, depart on a romantic cruise along the Saigon River. A speedboat will take you past Saigon Newport, the various bridges and the island of Binh Thanh – remarkable for its green space and rice paddies despite being so close to the city. Finally there is a stop at an upscale restaurant for stunning sunset views before returning to the city.

  • Day 4
    Saigon

    Get away from the city for a day of exploring sprawling rice paddies and colourful fruit farms. Stopping at the quaint An Khanh hamlet, meet the owner and learn how traditional sticky rice is made. Then continue to Quoi Son village where a motorboat journey reveals peaceful scenes of countryside living.

    Hop off the boat and onto a bicycle for a relaxing ride through village lanes lined with orchards, stopping off to sample fresh fruits as you go. A sampan will then take you along the narrow canals of the Mekong to a local farmer's house where a lunch of Mekong Delta specialties will be served before driving back to Saigon.

  • Day 5
    Saigon to Da Nang to Hoi An

    Depart on a flight to Da Nang where you will be met and guided to your hotel in Hoi An. Later, take a short drive away from the hustle and bustle in downtown to Co Co River. Here, a wooden boat is waiting for you to sail along the Thu Bon River. A delicious dinner will be served during the boat trip while you enjoy the beautiful sightseeing, fishing nets and many boats bobbing on the waters. The view of the sunset here is truly spectacular and makes for some special moments.

  • Day 6
    Hoi An

    Between the 15th and 19th centuries, Hoi An was a prosperous trading port, attracting ships from around the world. Today, this World Heritage ancient town is recognised for its well-preserved architecture, pedestrian-only streets and distinctive local cuisine, allowing visitors a glimpse of its illustrious past.

    Hoi An’s narrow lanes are ideal for a guided walking tour of its many atmospheric sights, from the old merchant houses to the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge. Take in the wonderful history as you see the local sights and browse the market, where stalls are filled with local specialities like silk.

  • Day 7
    Hoi An

    A private speedboat will take you to the Cham Islands off the coast of Hoi An, made up of seven small islands with beautiful beaches and rich marine life. Here, visit a traditional fishing village and the Ong Ngu Temple, dedicated to whales and whale sharks once abundant around the islands. Snorkel off picturesque Xep Beach before making a final stop at Chong Beach, a true oasis with white sand, swaying palm trees and a simple local restaurant where seafood lunch is served. Cruise back to Hoi An in the late afternoon.

  • Day 8
    Hoi An to Da Nang to Hanoi

    From Danang Airport, catch your flight to Noi Bai Airport where you will be met and guided to your hotel.

    Later on, head out on a street food tour with culinary blogger Mr. Van Cong Tu. Stroll through various markets to see a different side of Vietnam, taking in the sights and sounds as you go. Stalls are filled with dried goods and aromatics, the essentials of Vietnamese cooking. Of course, there will be plenty of opportunities to sample the tasty local delicacies.

  • Day 9
    Hanoi

    Today explore the hidden alleys and little-known places of Hanoi, getting insight into the lives of daily locals. Take a stroll past St. Josephs Cathedral and the bustling Nha Chung alley before stopping at an old French house, where you will meet the local owner. Take the opportunity to hear his story and listen to his unique perspective of this ancient city, before finishing the tour with lunch at a vintage Vietnamese restaurant.

  • Day 10
    Hanoi

    A short drive will take you to the historic village of Duong Lam – the birthplace of two Vietnamese kings. Home to approximately 300 houses built nearly 400 years ago, Duong Lam’s narrow alleyways showcase rural life and ancient Vietnamese architecture. Explore the quaint streets and make a stop at the 15th century Mia Pagoda, known for its 287 ancient statues and the Old Catholic Church. Finish your tour at an ancient house where you can chat with the friendly owners over a cup of tea before returning to Hanoi.

  • Day 11
    Hanoi to Halong Bay

    Head to Tuan Chau pier where your ship will be awaiting. After some time to relax in your private cabin, lunch will be served on deck while limestone karsts rise out of the water next to you. By kayak or rowing boat, get out on the waters to explore the floating fishing village of Cua Van, a place of true beauty. In the afternoon a cooking demonstration is held, while spectacular sunset views are revealed across the bay. After dinner, perhaps watch a movie in the cinema or try your hand at squid fishing.

  • Day 12
    Halong Bay

    For early risers, Tai Chi takes place on the upper deck and offers a serene way to start your day. Breakfast is then served as the boat cruises through the bay, arriving at a local island where a small village just begs to be explored. By foot or bicycle, visit ancient houses and a community farm before getting back on the boat. As it passes by the karsts, feel free to hop in a kayak and wander the waters, with lots of nice beaches to rest on.

  • Day 13
    Depart

    Breakfast is served as the boat glides back to the pier, stopping at Tien Ong Cave en route. From the pier, you will be guided to Noi Bai airport for your return flight home.
