  • Day 3
    Delhi

    Kick off your journey in the buzzing capital city. In the morning, see the hectic Chandi Chowk come alive as the trading day starts. Vibrant bazaars sell everything from fragrant spices to precious stones. Hop in a cycle rickshaw for a ride through Old Delhi and stop by landmarks such as the Red Fort and Jama Masjid. Continue to the sights of New Delhi, and then return to Old Delhi later to sample some delicious street food.

  • Day 4
    Delhi to Agra

    Head to Agra, the next destination in India’s golden triangle. This was the capital of the grand Mughal empire during the 16th and 17th centuries. During this period, the city became a leading centre of art, commerce and culture. Later in the evening, watch a live show called Mohabbate Taj, based on the story of the Taj Mahal. The iconic landmark was built as a monument of love for Shah Jahan’s wife.

  • Day 5
    Agra

    Rise early for views of the Taj Mahal. The crowds haven’t arrived yet, and the sunrise gives it a beautiful golden glow. Later in the afternoon, visit the impressive Agra Fort, passing the lively streets and bazaars en-route. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is best described as being a walled palatial city. Two optional experiences are champagne breakfast at Taj Khema and a local village walk.

  • Day 6
    Agra to Bishangarh

    Today you will be driven to Alila Fort Bishangarh near Jaipur. This heritage hotel was built inside a 230-year old fort and took almost a decade to renovate. Thick surrounding walls feature openings for turrets, acting as a reminder of when it was used for war. Wandering the lush grounds, admiring the stunning views, it’s not hard to see why this was the former home of kings.

  • Day 7
    Bishangarh

    Immerse yourself into the activities of local daily life, trying your hand at milking a buffalo or goat. There’s also the chance to cook up some delicacies in a rasoi; a traditional kitchen with a firewood stove. Later, enjoy dinner under the stars at Nazaara restaurant.

  • Day 8
    Bishangarh to Jaipur

    Take a short drive to Jaipur, the capital of Rajashtan state. Known as the “pink city”, on arrival you’ll soon see why – every building is in terracotta pink, with few exceptions. This is even enforced under local law. In the evening, watch a son-et-lumière (sound and light) show with views of Amber Fort in the background.

  • Day 9
    Jaipur

    Start your day in style with a champagne breakfast at Dera Amer, set behind the hills of the famous Amber Fort. Then wander to a nearby camp where you will get to interact with some elephants. Washing and feeding these gentle giants will provide memories to last a life time. Before returning to the hotel, visit the inspiring Amber Fort with its vast ramparts and terraces.

  • Day 10
    Jaipur

    Head out on a full-day tour and watch as whizzing scooters dodge dawdling camels and rickshaws. See the City Palace Complex, the Jantar Mantar observatory, and the wonderful Hawa Mahal where you can stop and get an Instagram-worthy picture. Optional activities include a morning bike ride, an evening heritage walk and a cooking session.

  • Day 11
    Jaipur to Udaipur

    Your last stop in Rajasthan, Udaipur is a romantic setting with narrow streets, fountain pavilions and colourful gardens all set beside three lakes. Marble palaces dot the landscape and are reflected in the glistening Lake Pichola. It’s only fitting that you will be staying in one of the palaces, which is set in the middle of the lake, like an island in itself.

  • Day 12
    Udaipur

    Head out on a morning tour of the city, stopping first at the City Palace complex with houses the private residence of Maharana of Mewar, or the “king of kings”. After the palace, wander through the markets and bazaars on the search for a bargain – there’s everything from gemstone paintings to dancing puppets. There’s also an optional lunch and the chance for a lovely evening boat ride on Lake Pichola.

    Depart

    Transfer to Udaipur Airport for your return flight home. Or alternatively, extend your holiday to one of our other fantastic destinations in India such as Goa or Kerala.
