A journey to southern Vietnam brings a wealth of new sights and experiences. In Saigon, take a tour of the intricate Cu Chi Tunnels that were used as supply routes and hospitals throughout the American War. Taste true Vietnamese dishes on a tour of the markets and observe daily life in one of the many cafes. Then hop on a tri-motorcycle for a ride past rice paddies on your way to Ben Tre, the gateway to the Mekong Delta. Cruise the waters and stop off at little houses to interact with friendly locals. A short flight will then take you to the serene islands of Con Dao where luxury awaits.

    UK to Saigon

    Depart on an overnight flight to Saigon.

  • Day 2

    Upon arrival in Saigon, you will be met and guided to your hotel.

    Cu Chi Tunnels

    Your day kicks off with a tour of the intriguing Cu Chi Tunnels, a network of underground pathways used by the Viet Cong as hiding spots, living quarters, supply routes and hospitals throughout the American War. You will be shown around by a veteran who experienced the tunnels first-hand, providing real insight into what living conditions were like.

    In the afternoon, depart on a tour of Saigon’s landmarks, from the Notre Dame Cathedral to the Central Post Office. Then its over to the Presidential Palace and the War Remnants Museum, before some sampling of Saigon’s café culture as you sit back and observe daily life.

  • Day 4

    Head out early morning to sample some of the city’s historic markets and food stalls. Your guide will explain about the spices and ingredients used in traditional Vietnamese cooking and best of all, you’ll have the opportunity to eat some really tasty dishes. Crepes and spring rolls are washed down perfectly with a smoothie or sugar cane drink. After browsing the stalls and local goods, its time to return to the hotel.

  • Day 5
    Saigon to Ben Tre

    A short morning drive will take you from Saigon to Ben Tre – the gateway to the Mekong Delta. Take a tri-motorcycle ride down narrow village roads to explore the rice paddies and fruit farms before boarding the cruise ship. Once on board, shore excursions include a bicycle trip around Phong Nam village with stops at a rice noodle factory and the home of a local. Continue down the Delta’s waterways as a five course lunch is served.

    In the afternoon, visit two more local homes to interact with typical Delta residents – Mr. Sau Tuong, a former soldier who survived two years of fighting the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, and Mr. Hung, known in the village of My Long for his sticky rice and fish ponds.

  • Day 6
    Ben Tre to Giong Trom to Saigon

    Today brings a boat trip down the Tai Phu Canal to visit a coconut processing workshop. After seeing the process, swap boat for bicycle and ride to the market of My Long, the Phuoc Long Tu temple and the war memorials in the village of Cau Hoa. Return to the homestay for a final five course lunch on the veranda before cycling to the village of Phong Nam where your boat awaits to take you to Ben Tre. From here, transfer to Saigon.

  • Day 7
    Saigon to Con Dao

    A guide will take you to the airport for your flight to Con Dao. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

    Con Dao

    The next couple of days at Six Senses Con Dao are to do with as you please. This exceptional resort sits within a protected national and marine park, contemporary in design yet with the ambience of a traditional fishing village. Alongside the top-class spa, you’ll find a range of experiences ranging from hiking and trekking to local tours and fishing.

    You will be guided to the airport for your flight to Saigon where you will catch your return flight home.
