Travel from the UK overnight to Sydney. Many choices for just one change en route to Sydney from most regional airport, but Singapore from Heathrow or Manchester are the best option for the return from Cairns.
Landing in Kingford Smith Airport, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your city centre hotel for the next three nights.
Two full days to explore this exceptional city. Spend time exploring the tourist traps around Circular Quay and the Rocks. The is dominated by the Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House but there is so much you can do around both of them as well more to see further afield. For the brave, climb the Harbour Bridge, for the culture take a tour back stage at Sydney Opera House. See the city from the water on a sightseeing or lunch cruise or travel north to stunning Manly Beach or south to experience famous Bondi. There is so much to see and do, you will not struggle to fill you days.
Take a transfer from the city back to the airport for a flight across the great expanse of Australia arriving in the Red Centre. Transferring to your hotel first, you will being to experience this amazing location straight away before a sunset experience at Kata Tjuta. Marvel at the unique flora and admire the view of the central valley of the domes of Kata Tjuta while you take in a magnificent outback sunset with gourmet canapés and Australian wine.
Today you’ll travel from Ayers Rock Resort to Kings Canyon, stopping for breakfast at Kings Creek Station along the way. Now get ready for a hike to remember! Make the steep rocky climb to the rim of the Kings Canyon for spectacular views of Watarrka National Park. Follow the rim of the canyon, stopping to look down into the gorge from a series of look-out points along the way.
Rise early this morning to travel to the Uluru sunrise viewing area. Watch the first rays of the sun set the Red Centre alight while enjoying a warming cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate. After sunrise travel to the mystical domes of Kata Tjuta. On the way enjoy panoramic views of the southern side of Kata Tjuta before arriving at Walpa Gorge. This afternoon visit Ulu?u - Kata Tju?a Cultural Centre where there is time to purchase some locally made Aboriginal art and learn more about the Western Desert region. Later travel around the base of Uluru with a local Driver Guide. Join your Driver Guide for a walk to Mutitjulu Waterhole. Travel to the Uluru sunset viewing area, 'Sunset Strip' and relax with a glass of wine and Nibbles as the sun sets over the western horizon.
Before your departure, you will get the chance to experience the amazing Field of Light, arriving before sunrise you will enjoy the 50,000 globes of light in the desert before climbing the viewing platform for a different angle of the first rays hitting Uluru. After all this, you will be transferred to Ayers Rock airport for the onward flight to Cairns. Upon arrival, a transfer will whisk you away to your home for the next three nights, located within ancient rainforests, on the edge of the Pacific Ocean and just 15 minutes from Port Douglas.
Two days to relax on Thala Beach Nature Reserves near 2km of private sand. If that doesn’t sound like enough for you, the resort has plenty to experience with bird and butterfly walks within the rainforest or stargazing in the clear night sky. Further afield, you will find day trips into Daintree Rainforest and you are located only 20 miles from the Great Barrier Reef, and tours can easily be arranged including transfers to and from Port Douglas Marina, getting you out onto the largest coral reef in the world for a truly memorable end to your trip.
A final morning soaking up the Tropical North Queensland sun or exploring the rainforest for more of the amazing local wildlife before a transfer back to Cairns Airport. Singapore Airlines will take you back overnight to London or Manchester with one change in Singapore or extend your stay with more time in Sydney, add in Melbourne or break the journey home up with a stop in the Far East or Middle East.
