After arriving in Cape Town, you will be met and guided to your hotel. The Cape Grace sits only moments from the V&A Waterfront with the dramatic Table Mountain as its backdrop.
Take some time to explore the stunning Cape Peninsula with your own private guide and driver. See the beautiful beaches and picturesque coastal villages as you travel over Chapman’s Peak. Meet the cheeky penguins at Boulders Beach and visit the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, home to lush vegetation and wildlife like zebra and antelope. Lastly, stop by the winelands to sample some delicious wines.
After getting a taste for South Africa’s famous wines, where better to head than Franschhoek. This scenic town is around an hour’s drive from Cape Town and is often considered the country’s food and wine capital. Your hotel, Mont Rochelle, even boasts its own 37-hectare vineyard where you can enjoy a lovely picnic and admire the views.
Now its time to venture further from your hotel and really explore Franschhoek. Wander its centuries-old vineyards and marvel at the Cape Dutch architecture. After feasting on some delectable food and drink, it can be walked off on some beautiful trails around the mountain ranges. The town centre is full of speciality shops, boutiques, art galleries and restaurants.
Leave Franschhoek behind and travel south to Grootbos Private Nature Reserve. Nestled between mountain and sea, the reserve showcases the magnificent flora and marine life of the southern tip of Africa. It is home to the “marine big five” of whales, sharks, dolphins, seals and whales. Throughout your stay, discover the reserve by guided walks and horseback, or simply relax in the cool infinity pool. Land-based whale watching is available depending on the season.
Includes: breakfast, lunch & dinner
Transfer to Cape Town for your overnight flight home, or add on a few extra days to experience an African safari. Fly to Port Elizabeth for three nights at Kwandwe Great Fish River Lodge, fully inclusive with twice daily game drives including walking safaris from £1,770 per person.
‘Stylish and Comfortable Hotel Experience’
Situated just outside Cape Town, the Cape Grace hotel boasts 120 stylish and comfortable rooms and suites all with first class amenities and breath-taking views of Table Mountain and the Waterfront Harbour. There is a choice of restaurants and bars to enjoy and a wide range of leisure facilities including an outdoor heated swimming pool, spa and fitness centre. Families are welcome and the children's activities will make their stay more enjoyable.
‘Wine Tasting and Gourmet Picnics’
Mont Rochelle sits amongst hills, valleys and vineyards in the old town of Franschhoek in the Western Cape Province – considered to be the food and wine capital of South Africa. Wine enthusiasts will be in heaven here with the personalised wine tasting sessions and 150 year old cellar, however there are plenty of other ways to spend your time either on the premises or nearby. Explore the 100 acres grounds as you take a stroll through the farm, or venture further with a hike to the Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve; upon your return, relax with a treatment at the spa. After working up an appetite, enjoy an intimate picnic lunch with a specially-prepared hamper, followed by a fine dining experience at one of two restaurants in the evening. Retire to your guest room and gaze across views of the valley.
‘Nature and Adventure’
Forest Lodge is set within the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, tucked between mountain, forest and sea near the southern tip of Africa. It is two hours from Cape Town and thirty minutes from Hermanus on the way to the Garden Route. Lodges and villas give off a homely feel with their wooden beams and comfortable beds. Dishes are made using ingredients from their own organic farm. Activities include shark diving, whale watching, 4x4 tour, horse riding, walks, hikes and more.
