Costa Rica adventure

The tour begins in San Jose, the bustling capital of Costa Rica. After breezing through passport control and collecting your luggage, you will be met by one of our representatives in the arrivals hall. A private driver will take you straight to Costa Rica Marriott Hotel Hacienda Belen, where you can rest your head for the night before waking up refreshed and ready for the holiday to begin.

Your first full day in Costa Rica commences with a swift transfer to the Hotel Parador Resort & Spa in Manuel Antonio, which takes around 3 hours and 15 minutes. After arriving, you can relax and unwind by taking advantage of all of the wonderful amenities. You may choose to take a dip in one of the three pools, get pampered in the spa or sweat out any residual flight stress in the fitness centre. 

Now the excitement begins, as you visit one of the most spectacular places in the country: Manuel Antonio National Park. Prepare to be amazed as a nature specialist guides you through the beautiful park, telling you all about the remarkable wildlife living amongst the tropical trees. 

Sloths, monkeys and reptiles are just a few of the fascinating creatures that you might come across. Visitors will be able to take a peek through your guide’s Pentax and Swarovski telescopes to get an up-close look at each creature. Halfway through this tour, you will be offered the chance to have a rest by the gorgeous shoreline and cool off in the water. Following the tour, you will be transported back to the hotel.

After your jungle adventure, you will be treated to a well-earned rest day that you can spend at your leisure. You may choose to chill out at the hotel or step out for a swim at the beach. Either way, you’ll be able to take it easy and recharge before tomorrow’s journey.

Today you will be transferred to Hotel Trapp Family Lodge in Monteverde, which will take around 3 hours and 30 minutes. Upon arrival, you can chill out in the hotel’s elegant surroundings before bedding down early to prepare for the next day of the tour. 

An experienced guide will pick you up from the hotel before taking you along the trails of Monteverde National Park on your sixth day. A wild utopia, this park is home to 500 species of birds, 120 reptile species and amphibians and over 3000 plants including the largest variety of orchids in the world. You will have your pick of trails to explore, as well as the option of walking to the panoramic viewpoint of La Ventana.

On this day, a half transfer, half excursion, will take you the scenic route to La Fortuna. Your journey will begin with a 1.5-hour trip to Rio Chiquito where you will board a pontoon that will take you to Arenal Lake in 40 minutes. Then a 30-minute minibus ride will transfer you to Arenal Springs Hotel in the Arenal area.

Spend Day 8 exploring the beautiful Arenal area and its diverse wildlife, keeping a special eye out for the two and three-finger sloths, which are the most popular species in the region. Your expert guide will take you to observation spots to get the best view of each creature you come across, which could also include multicoloured toucans, poison dart frogs, iguanas and monkeys.

A three-hour transfer will take you to Andaz Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo. Here, you will be treated to unbeatable views of verdant rainforest alongside turquoise ocean waters.

After a jam-packed few days, you will be able to relax and spend the rest of your trip exploring all that the Gulf of Papagayo has to offer at your own pace. You may opt to take to the azure waters by kayak before catching a beautiful sunset from the shoreline.

Many also enjoy making the most of the sensational coastline by paddle boarding along its tranquil waters. You can also investigate the incredible marine life by renting a snorkel. Prepare to see an array of magnificent sea creatures, including puffer fish, eels and turtles.
