River Lodge on the Kariega Game Reserve is unique with 10 tastefully appointed thatched suites meandering along the banks of the Bushman’s River. A natural extension to Cape Town and the Garden Route, and only 80 minutes from Port Elizabeth, this renowned malaria-free private game reserve is set in 10,000 hectares of pristine African wilderness it offers a combination of ‘Big-5’ and general game viewing from open vehicles with qualified game rangers and an expansive variety of fauna, flora and birdlife. The unique Kariega experience includes guided bush walks, river cruises, canoeing, fishing, an overnight bush camp activity, a spa and gym. Guests staying at the River Lodge will be able to find a quiet spot in one of the lounges, page through a book in the library, relax at the pool or take in the magnificent views from the deck overhanging the river. Nestled on the banks of the Bushman’s River, this Lodge is unique in that it connects a Big-5 game reserve to the sea; there is an optional daily ferry to the quaint village of Kenton-on-sea.
