As much as we love our children, teenagers are notoriously difficult to please. Travelling with your parents just isn’t cool and it can be hard to find a destination that fulfils a need for fun, adventure and Instagram worthy pictures. Dubai is all of this and more, an uber-fashionable escape with enough glitz to amaze even the most stubborn teen.

Ski Dubai - Ski in the Middle of the Desert

Covering an incredible 22,500sqm, Ski Dubai is an indoor snow park in the middle of a desert. If that’s hard to comprehend, the fact that it’s also in a mall will boggle the mind. The centre has 5 ski slopes for all levels, the longest of which is 400 metres. Snowboarding is also an option, as is Tobogganing and if you need a breather and a hot chocolate, there’s also a wintery-themed café.

As the temperature is maintained at a level best described as ‘freezing,’ the park is also home to many penguins who perform their own presentation every day, you can even swim the cutesy creatures and book a penguin encounter.

Wild Wadi Waterpark - Aquaventure for all ages

Rightly regarded as one of the best water parks in the world, Wild Wadi is next to the iconic sails of the Burj Al Arab. Although there are areas of the park that are aimed at younger children, teenagers with an adrenaline rush will have no problem finding high-octane rides to satisfy their need for speed.

Perhaps the most aptly named ride is Tantrum Alley, a network of waterslides and tornadoes that can be enjoyed by a group of up to 4. There are over 30 slides to enjoy and while it can get busy at the park, it’s not an issue due to the number of rides available. Remember, guests have free access when staying at a Jumeirah hotel.

Desert Safari - The Ultimate off road Experience

Take a break from the megatropolis cityscape and escape to the sands of the desert that surround Dubai. A day out on safari is a thrill ride for even the biggest of kids, an exhilarating experience, particularly riding across the sands in a 4x4.

Other activities include camel riding, dune bashing and henna tattoos before enjoying a sunset BBQ dinner and evening entertainment.

Dubai Mall - Shop until you drop

Dubai is well known for its malls and the Dubai Mall is one of the grandest. Not only is there an endless parade of shops selling everything from clothes and perfume to games and accessories, the mall has its own cinema, underwater aquarium and ice-skating rink.

Hub Zero - Immersive Gaming Fun

If you have a video game addicted teen, Hub Zero is a haven of entertainment and technology.

The gaming hub features interactive virtual reality games, classic arcade games and a 4k cinema. Thanks to the social aspect of the centre, it’s a great chance for teens to connect over competitive games and activities like laser tag. Not only is Hub Zero great for teenagers, it's great for all of the family with plenty of things to do and enjoy together.

Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project - A noble Conservation effort

Based within the incredible Jumeirah Al Naseem, the Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project is a unique venture that aims to rehabilitate and release turtles back into the wild. It’s a great chance to understand just one facet of Dubai’s conservation efforts and also for you to see turtles up close. There is also a scheduled feeding at 11:00 every Wednesday.
