Concept - Whether it is time with family, time alone, time to heal or time to explore, your time is far more valuable than any material object, it’s the memories you share with your loved ones that make the most lasting impression. So rather than wasting precious time on unnecessary extras and overly indulgent offerings, LUX* has chosen instead to create a lighter, brighter, more relaxed holiday experience, ensuring that their guests get the most out of island life’s simple pleasures every day.
Scents - We all like to find bespoke products in our bathroom, LUX* Island Resorts[more] offers you something different, an element of surprise and a gasp of pleasure with products that are as light on the planet as they are on the body; they include an exclusive range of essential oils in conjunction with aroma therapist Shirley Page which use island ingredients, essences, flowers and spices.
Dining - On each island, there is an exciting array of street foods to be found. Island Kitchen brings these exciting taste sensations into the resorts by chefs who have visited local markets, food stalls and researched indigenous cuisines and cooking methods to produce attractive and authentic dishes. As well as fine dining the resorts you will also find Café LUX*, a true café experience designed for seaside sitting, sipping and surfing with complimentary WI-FI and a selection of magazines from around the world. Ice Cream is also given priority with home ice cream brand, 'ici' served in retro-styled parlours and mobile carts.
Leisure: spontaneous and light-hearted - The aim of LUX* is to shake up the scene and provide entertainment that guests really enjoy rather than expect to find; island dancing takes on a whole new feel with talented local Sega dancers who are trained to teach you the moves. Movies or major sporting events may be enjoyed on a screen on the beach and oodles of sports on land & in the ocean are offered in a relaxed and welcoming way.
Nice Touches - Secret Bars are a fun concept at the resorts; they are pop up impromptu bars that may look like a wardrobe or a tree but peeking inside you will see refreshing surprises! Phoning home can be a headache with expensive calls from mobiles and inflated hotel charges so LUX* have broken the mould by introducing a stress free option with old telephone boxes around the grounds which allow you to make free VOIP international or local calls. LUX* invites its guests to get to know local foods by visiting local markets selling street foods. Message in a bottle – stumble across one of the carefully placed bottles at the resort and you may find an invitation to enjoy a complimentary massage, a romantic meal on the beach or a clue to take you to a secret bar.
Families - There are lots regular activities that are suitable for the whole family however there are also dedicated activities such as Teddy Tennis with Molly Bear and Boris Bear to encourage them. Baking is always fun and kids are invited to get messy with sugar flowers, ganache and icing in the cake decorating bars. The clubs for kids include PLAY and STUDIO 17 ensuring that every age group is catered for; family kits including sterilisers and bottle warmers may be rented.
Spa - As you would expect from an island resort there are amazing spas at LUX* Resorts but taking that one step further into a whole day of pampering and cultural exploration is their unique Well-being Safaris; leaving the confines of the spa treatment rooms you will be taken into the glorious woodlands for yoga and stretching, walk in the countryside, meditate on a rock in a stream and generally get up close and personal with the native flora and fauna.
Awards - LUX* Resorts were awarded the 2012 Luxury Travel Supplier of the Year by TTG Travel Awards London and eight individual properties picked up Certificates of Excellence by TripAdvisor. LUX* Maldives was named Indian Ocean’s Leading Hotel at the World Travel Awards 2012 as well as picking up Leading Beach Resort from Maldives Travel Awards.
Social responsibility - LUX* cares about the islands that are home to its properties believing that memorable holidays shouldn't cost the earth; they seek to 'Tread Lightly', leaving a lighter footprint.
